Led by the SA Steering Group chaired by Angel Perez from Brazil, the planning of activities in the South Atlantic is progressing. A provisional science plan has been written (see below). And a second meeting was held during the COLACMAR conference in April 2007. The SG has now been distributing tasks to sub-groups. In the next two-year funding round, a portion of the grant to MAR-ECO has been dedicated to further South Atlantic activity. But the crucial issue is commitments of ship-time and further resources for research at sea. Programme and minutes from the April meetings are available here. Odd Aksel Bergstad |
