A cruise on the Russian research vessel 'Akademik Ioffe' was undertaken to the South Atlantic, 25 October - 29 November 2009. 9 days of the cruise were dedicated for work on the Southern Mid-Atlantic Ridge. This was the first dedicated effort serving the South Atlantic MAR-ECO project. The biological research team was composed of 17 scientists from Russia (11), Brazil (4), Uruguay (1) and New Zealand (1). Andrey Gebruk (Russia) and Angel Perez (Brazil) coordinated the sampling operations during the cruise. Read more in:
