12th Deep-Sea Biology Symposium (29 Jan 2010 13:23)
The 12th Deep-Sea Biology Symposium will be held 7-10 June 2010 in Reykjavik, Iceland. Registration will open in January 2010. MAR-ECO participants are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for presenting MAR-ECO results.

Successful MAR-ECO synthesis meeting (08 Jan 2009 11:39)
A successful first MAR-ECO synthesis meeting was held at Laboratoire d'Océanologie, Station Zoologique, Villefranche-sur-Mer 27 May-5 June 2008. This meeting marked the initiation of a new phase in MAR-ECO; the synthesising of achievements in preparation for the 2010 end of the Census of Marine Life.

2008 Ocean Sciences Meeting (04 Feb 2010 13:07)
Several MAR-ECO partners attended the 3-7 March ‘2008 Ocean Sciences Meeting’ in Orlando, Florida. The conference attracted around 4000 participants who enjoyed a multitude of sessions under the heading “From the watershed to the global ocean”.

During the 2006 ICES Annual Science Conference there will be a CoML session on benthis diversity, and member of the CoML SSC Dr Carlo Heip will give an open lecture. We have received the following message from the CoML Secretariat:
Dear Project Leaders,
The "Open Lecture" at the 2006 ICES Annual Science Conference (19-23 September, 2006 in Maastricht, the Netherlands) will be given by Carlo Heip. The title of his lecture is "Marine Biodiversity: the Exploration and Understanding of the Blue Planet".
