The MAR-ECO Project Workshop was held in Reykjavik, Iceland 29-30 September 2007. 48 scientists and students participated at the workshop consisting of plenary sessions with invited papers, sub-group meetings and poster presentations.
Download: Programme and Abstracts The key aims of the workshop were: * To report from ongoing activities and new field efforts (e.g. ECOMAR and US-NSF project) * Design and draft the synthesis for the 2010 Census of Marine Life. * Facilitate information exchange across sub-groups, and between scientists and students. The status of the three MAR-ECO subgroups was presented on the first day. The chair of the South Atlantic MAR-ECO Steering Group, Dr Angel Perez (CTTMar, University of Vale do Itajaí, Brazil), participated at the MAR-ECO International Steering Group Meeting and the Workshop in Reykjavik. Dr. Perez gave a presentation on the South Atlantic MAR-ECO, and has provided a progress report on activities in the South Atlantic .
