who grants you funds for the projects?

We have a generous grant to fund common activities from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in New York. This is used as basic funding for running the project (secretariat, some meetings, data management, some museum activities, and dissemination).

Ship-time is funded by national institutions such as in Norway the Institute of Marine Research and the University of Bergen.

Scientific activities (salaries, equipment, running costs) are paid by institutions or by grants from private anf public funding agencies. Important are e.g. the research councils, foundations, and regional bodies such as the EU and Nordic Council of Ministers.
