"Deeper than Light" travels to Finland 

"WONDERS’" Carousel of Science programme encourages interaction and collaboration between participating countries by providing support for exchanges between countries.

The Norwegian Research Council selected three different activities to participate in the first part of Genoa’s two-week long Festival of Science.

The three were "Street Science", an initiative from the University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, "Henrik Ibsen and Italy", presented by a group of researchers from Tromsø documenting the effects of Italy on the writer’s work and life (Ibsen lived in Italy from 1864-1868, and the presentation was a part of Norway’s "Ibsen Year" activities) and "Deeper than Light", a mini-exhibition about the deep sea produced by Bergen Museum and MAR-ECO, an international research project led by the University of Bergen and the Institute of Marine Research.

Each national finalist, one for each partner country, was selected based on public questionnaires and participation. "Deeper than Light" was selected to be Norway’s representative in the final Carousel Event in Heureka, in Vantaa, Finland, December 8-9, 2006.

After a day-long viewing Saturday 9 December, which is open to the public, a winner will be selected and the event will be celebrated Heureka style!

Sunday participants will participate in workshops and evaluations as well as a Science Café where they will be able to exchange ideas and experiences.
